Better Healthcare for all Georgians

Families

Georgia families should not be forced to choose between bankruptcy and life-saving healthcare. This is happening to Georgians across income levels, race, gender, and zip code.

Families are bearing the brunt of a failed healthcare system, as evidenced by our high infant mortality rate, more than half of Georgia's rural counties lacking a pediatrician, and nearly a dozen hospital closures across the state in the last decade. All of this has strained our healthcare system and saddled Georgians with increased costs.

Women

Georgia has one of the highest rates of maternal mortality in the country and has earned yet another "F" grade from the March of Dimes. An estimated 50% of Georgia counties have no OB-GYN.

Georgia has one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country. No woman or healthcare professional should ever face criminal prosecution for providing necessary medical care, and no woman should risk dying because she is denied the healthcare she requires.

Veterans

In 2024, Atlanta earned just one out of five stars for VA hospital quality. Atlanta made significant progress in 2025, recently earning three stars — something we should celebrate — but we must maintain this level of quality and continue striving for more.

Our veterans deserve consistent, quality healthcare.

I want all Georgians to have reliable access to quality healthcare. Together, we must expand Medicaid, bring down costs, and make sure Georgians can get the care they need when they need it.

Strengthening Georgia’s Economy For Families

I'm proud that Georgia is one of the top states in which to do business, and I will work to maintain that. But Georgia's economy also needs to work for Georgia families, and many are struggling to find affordable housing, childcare, eldercare, insurance, and jobs that pay a living wage.

We must find solutions that support our state's business infrastructure — like expanded public transportation, incentives for small businesses, a prepared workforce — while ensuring Georgia is a great place to raise a family. If we don't take care of Georgia families, businesses in our state will eventually suffer.

As a former corporate executive and small business owner, I know we don't have to choose between supporting Georgia's business environment and investing in our families. We can do both.

Thriving Schools

Early Education

Georgia's children are falling below basic reading standards by the end of 3rd grade. Children who can't read proficiently by then are four times more likely to drop out of high school.

Access to quality early education can put these children on a path to success, with positive impacts for children, families, and all Georgians.

Teacher Pay and Spend Per Student

Georgia ranks 35th in the nation for average starting teacher salary — behind Alabama and Louisiana. Recent teacher salary increases are welcomed, but they haven't kept up with inflation. Georgia also ranks 40th in total spend per student in K-12 and post-secondary education.

We must do better.

Safe Schools

We must do everything we can to protect our children from senseless gun violence. I will not accept the fear that many of us live with regarding the safety of our children. Georgians should not fear gun violence at our schools or college campuses.

Protecting Our Democracy

Voting Access

Voting rights are critical to a functioning democracy, and recently we have seen a number of voter suppression efforts emanating from the Gold Dome. I will work to remove barriers to the ballot box and ensure all Georgia citizens can exercise their constitutional right to vote.

Fair Districts

Gerrymandered districts dilute our voice. The voters should elect their representatives — not the other way around.

In Georgia, 70% of voters support reproductive rights, Medicaid expansion, and common-sense gun laws. Yet the laws passed by the Republican-majority legislature do not reflect the will of the people.

Government Overreach

The Federal government is building ICE detention centers in Georgia without the input of any state or local officials — without the input of the people of Georgia. We are being told the Federal government can ignore local ordinances in doing so, straining local infrastructure and negatively impacting communities.

State and local government should not stand by while the Federal government acts without restraint or a well-thought-out process.

We must also stop government overreach at the state level. Georgia Republicans once believed in local control — but when they don't like what local municipalities are doing, they step in with preemption laws that override our mayors and city councils, further diluting our vote.
