Laura Murvartian, Candidate for Georgia State Representative, House District 48

Long before I ever thought about running for office, I moved when I was eight years old from Mexico to Minnesota, where my parents sought a better life for us and worked tirelessly in pursuit of the American Dream for our family.

I am running for office because the dream my parents achieved through hard work is slipping away for too many families living in Georgia and in this district. I am ready to apply my work ethic, values, and experience as a business executive, small business owner, and nonprofit leader to ensure we, the people of Georgia, have the opportunity to achieve our dreams for our families.

I am running because I feel an obligation to give back to the country that has given me so much and to the state in which I raised my family. This year, the stakes are too high for me to sit this one out.

Why I’m Running

I am running for State Representative because I believe that silence and inaction means acceptance, and I refuse to accept less than what hardworking Georgia families deserve.

I am running for office because I know we can do better. Together, we can make Georgia a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, where our rights are protected, and where we all feel safe.
